These Terms of Use govern your use of There: Your travel map (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Purpose of the App
The App is a personal travel tracking and visualization app. It lets you record visited countries, cities, and airports, optionally save visit dates for supported country and city entries, view travel statistics and achievements, see country details, display a travel map widget, receive optional local reminders, generate share images, and compare travel maps with another person through QR codes.
The App is provided for personal and informational use only. It is not an official travel log, immigration record, tax record, residency record, visa service, or legal proof of travel history.
2. Accounts and Service Structure
The App does not currently require or provide a developer-managed user account or sign-in system.
The App does not use a developer-operated backend for storing your travel map, airport history, profile, QR comparison profile, or shareable images. Some Apple-managed services, such as iCloud / CloudKit and App Store purchase processing, may still apply where enabled or used. Firebase / Google Analytics may receive limited usage analytics as described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Data You Store and Share
The App may store information you choose to keep in it, including:
- visited trip entries, including countries, optional trip dates, and related timestamps;
- wish-list entries, including optional planned dates and related timestamps;
- lived-country entries, including start dates, optional end dates, currently-living status, and related timestamps;
- city entries, including city name, GeoNames identifier, country code, status, optional dates, currently-living status where applicable, and related timestamps;
- visited airport entries, including airport identifier, IATA code, airport name, optional city name, optional country code, and related timestamps;
- your chosen profile name;
- your optional emoji avatar selection;
- your optional residency country selection;
- a locally generated identifier used for QR comparison;
The App derives progress displays, statistics, achievements, QR profiles, widget snapshots, and share images from that data.
If you display your QR code or use the system share sheet, you direct the App to disclose the included information to the person scanning the QR code or to the app, service, or recipient you choose.
4. Storage, Sync, and Availability
The App uses SwiftData and local app storage for its main data. The App also includes Apple iCloud / CloudKit entitlements and may rely on Apple's SwiftData / CloudKit behavior for syncing supported data when those services are enabled and available. Supported data may include trip records, city entries, airport entries, and profile data.
The App does not provide its own custom sync controls, custom recovery flow, or guaranteed restore mechanism. You are responsible for your device, your Apple account settings, network availability, device configuration, and any backups or sync features you choose to use.
The developer does not guarantee that data will always remain available, synced, backed up, preserved, or recoverable.
5. Third-Party Data, Apple Services, and External Links
Country list data for the core map experience is bundled with the App. City search data derived from GeoNames and airport search data derived from OurAirports are also bundled with the App. Some country statistics are requested from third-party public data sources, including the World Bank API.
The App may also use Apple-managed services for iCloud / CloudKit sync behavior, App Store distribution, ratings and reviews, StoreKit purchases, purchase restoration, subscriptions, lifetime purchases, and one-time tip / donation purchases. The App uses Firebase / Google Analytics for limited app usage analytics.
The App may open external links or apps such as Instagram, TikTok, Apple Maps, Google Maps, email, and hosted legal pages. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.
Third-party content and services may be incomplete, unavailable, delayed, or changed at any time. The developer does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or continued availability of third-party content or services.
6. Purchases, Subscriptions, and Donations
The App may offer optional paid There Pro features through Apple's StoreKit and the App Store. Current products may include auto-renewable subscription options, a lifetime non-consumable purchase, and optional one-time consumable tip / donation products. Current Pro-gated feature areas may include airport tracking, city-related views, premium statistics, achievements, or other enhanced views shown in the App.
Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your Apple account before renewal, according to Apple's rules. If you start a free trial, including the 7-day trial currently shown in the App, it converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends according to Apple's subscription rules. Free trials, introductory offers, billing, cancellation, refunds, family sharing status, purchase restoration, and other purchase-related matters are subject to Apple's systems, policies, and applicable law.
A lifetime purchase means access to the included There Pro paid features for the lifetime of the App or service. It is not a promise that every possible future feature, separate product, or third-party service will be included forever.
The developer cannot guarantee that every product, price, trial, offer, or paid feature will always be available. Restoring purchases asks Apple to sync eligible App Store entitlements to the App.
7. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- the accuracy of the information you choose to store or share through the App;
- deciding whether to show your QR code or share generated images;
- keeping access to your device and Apple account secure;
- using the App in compliance with applicable law;
- independently verifying any travel-related information that matters to you.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the App for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes;
- attempt to interfere with the App's operation, security, or normal use;
- misuse the QR comparison feature to impersonate, deceive, or harass others;
- copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the App except where applicable law permits it;
- use the App in a way that infringes the rights of the developer or others.
9. No Warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law.
The developer does not guarantee that the App will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, iOS version, Apple service state, or network condition.
The developer also does not guarantee that travel statistics, achievements, QR comparison results, map rendering, widget rendering, share previews, purchased product availability, city data, airport data, or country details will always be accurate, complete, or available.
The App is for personal tracking and informational purposes only. It does not provide official travel, legal, immigration, safety, visa, medical, or emergency advice.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, loss of sync state, loss of travel records, loss of purchases, loss of use, or other losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
If liability cannot be excluded entirely under applicable law, it will be limited to the minimum amount permitted by that law.
11. Intellectual Property
The App's code, design, branding, and original content belong to the developer or are used under applicable license.
You keep any rights you may have in the personal data or other content you store locally in the App, but you are responsible for having the right to use and share that content.
12. Notifications, Permissions, and Device Features
The App currently uses camera access for QR scanning, may use a widget extension to display a generated travel map snapshot, and includes optional local reminders for map completion, widgets, wishlist activity, and adding recent travel entries. The App does not currently include a dedicated export / import workflow.
The availability of certain features may depend on your device, your permissions, and Apple's platform services.
13. Changes to the Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the App or legal requirements.
Continued use of the App after updated Terms become available means you accept the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence apply.
